Spanish books at A2 level

What A2 means, in numbers

• 22 lessons at this level on this site, lesson 21 to lesson 42, all free.
• 5,089 words of A2 Spanish to read straight through, and that is the story alone: the vocabulary, the grammar and the exercises come on top of it.
• 231 words a lesson on average, from 149 to 362. About eight minutes of reading each.
• 4 review units, one every five lessons, that go back over the level instead of adding to it.

The Spanish itself

• The preterite and the imperfect, and the daily business of choosing between them.
• The future and the conditional, both regular.
• Two pronouns in one sentence, se me cayó, and por against para.
• Sentences that join up with porque, cuando and aunque, so a paragraph holds together instead of being a list.

A2 is the level publishers stretch. A book that says A2 and opens with a subjunctive is a B1 book with an A2 sticker on it. Read the sample before you buy anything, here or anywhere else.
