Privacy
What this site stores
Short version: no cookies, no advertising, no account, and nothing kept about you that you did not hand over yourself. Visits to the site are counted, without cookies and without following you anywhere. The one thing you can hand over is your email address, if you want to hear about new books and the occasional discount code, and that is set out below.
No cookies
This site sets no cookies at all. It does store a few things in your browser's local storage, which never travel to any server:

All of these exist only because you asked for them by using the site, they are first-party, and none of them identify you or track you across sites. Under article 22.2 of the Spanish LSSI-CE and article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive, storage of this kind is exempt from prior consent, which is why there is no cookie banner here.
You can erase all of it at any time with the Erase my progress button on the home page, or by clearing site data in your browser. Deleting it only loses your progress. Nothing else happens.
Counting visitors
This site counts its visitors with Cloudflare Web Analytics. It sets no cookies and writes nothing into your browser, so there is no identifier that follows you from one page to the next, from one visit to the next, or from this site to any other.
What gets recorded is the page you opened, the page that sent you here if there was one, your country, your browser and whether you are on a phone or a computer. The country comes from your IP address, which reaches Cloudflare in any case because it is the address the page has to be sent back to. It is not kept next to the measurement and it is not used to recognise you later.
The reason any of this is counted is to know whether the course is being read at all and which chapters people stop at. It is not used to build a profile of you, it is not shared with anyone, and it is not sold. Because nothing is stored on your device, this needs no cookie banner and no consent under article 22.2 of the LSSI-CE.
The book list
There is one form on this site, on the home page and on the books page, where you can leave your email address to hear about this course and these books: new ones, updates, and whatever else is worth sending. Filling it in is the only way this site ever learns anything about you. If you do not fill it in, nothing in this section applies to you.

Where it is kept. On this site's own database at Cloudflare, the same company that already serves you these pages. It is not on a mailing platform, it is not in Mailchimp or anything like it, and it is not sold, swapped or lent to anybody, ever. No third-party script runs in your browser to collect it: the form posts to this site and nowhere else, which is also why signing up sets no cookie.
Who sends the email. The email itself goes out through Resend, which is a sending service and nothing else. Your address is handed to them for that one purpose, as a processor acting on instructions, and they do not use it for anything of their own. Nothing of theirs loads in your browser: this site's server talks to them, you never do.
The legal part. The basis is your consent, given by ticking the box (article 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw it at any time, and withdrawing it is as easy as giving it: one line to the address below. The controller is the person who runs this site, reachable at rocinanteysuhidalgo@gmail.com.
How long. Until you ask to be taken off, and no longer. The list is kept between books on purpose, because that is what it is for: an email when there is a new one. It is not a newsletter and it does not become one. If it is ever wound up, it is deleted in full and you are told in the last email.
How to get off it. One line to the address below, saying so. No form, no login, no reason needed, and it is done the same day. Every email sent to this list carries the same instruction at the bottom, so you never have to come back here to find it.
What you can ask for. A copy of what is held about you, correction of it, deletion of it, or that it stop being used. Write to the address above and it is done the same day, with no questions and no form to fill in. You also have the right to complain to the Spanish data protection authority, the AEPD.
Server logs
The site is hosted as static files. The hosting provider records standard access logs, which include IP addresses, for security and to keep the service running. That is the only processing of personal data connected to this site, it is done by the provider under its own privacy policy, and it is not used to build any profile of you.
Speech
Listening uses your browser's own speech synthesis. The pronunciation exercises use your browser's speech recognition, which in Chrome, Edge and Safari may send the audio to the browser vendor's servers to be transcribed. That is the browser's behaviour, not this site's, and this site never receives or stores the audio. The microphone only turns on while you hold the record button.
Donations
The donation link points to Ko-fi, a separate company with its own privacy policy. Nothing from Ko-fi loads on this site: it is a plain link, so Ko-fi learns nothing about you unless you click it.

There is no account to delete. Unless you filled in the book form, nothing about you is stored on any server, so clearing your browser data removes everything this site has ever kept. If you did fill it in, your address is on the book list and one line to the address above deletes it.
